John Seal

John Seal

Founder

My passion for the skies drove me to get my pilot's license. I was disappointed with the lack of instruction opportunities in East Idaho, so I teamed up with some of the most experienced CFIs in the area to start Bravo 6 Flight Academy. I am currently working on my Instrument Rating.

Alex Weichers

Alex Weichers

PPL, IR, CPL, CME, CFI and CFII | 1,800+ total flight hours, 1,700+ as Pilot in Command, 1,500+ dual given

Alex began his aviation journey in 2020 in Long Beach, CA, flying over the ocean and the Queen Mary ship to get to the training area. He learned under the LAX airport and later earned his initial CFI in Mesa, AZ, completing all seven of his certifications within one year. Alex went on to instruct in Ogden, UT, where he spent over two and a half years training students. During that time, he endorsed 75 students for checkrides across seven different certifications and was one of the few instructors qualified to endorse students at every level offered. Now serving as Chief CFI at Bravo 6, Alex leverages over five years of instructional experience to support and mentor instructors, ensuring a high standard of training across the program.

Diego Monterrosso

Diego Monterrosso

Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot and CFI | 1,220 flight hours

Originally from Guatemala City, Diego pursued his flight training at L3 Harris Flight Academy in Sanford, FL, where he built a strong foundation in aviation while gaining experience in a structured, fast-paced training environment. Training in Florida also provided exposure to diverse weather conditions and busy airspace, helping shape his skills as a well-rounded pilot. Outside of aviation, Diego enjoys staying active by playing soccer and spending time practicing guitar.

Donald Wilkinson

Donald Wilkinson

PPL, IR, CPL, CME, CFI and CFII | over 1,130 flight hours

Donald is originally from Sandy, UT, where he developed an early interest in aviation from his family. Growing up, he watched his father work as a pilot for Delta Airlines, flying large commercial aircraft. That exposure sparked a lasting interest in aviation, as the idea of being paid to travel and experience the world from a completely different perspective stood from a young age. He pursued his education outside of aviation by majoring in Japanese. He earned his PPL in Utah, continued his Instrument through CFII training in Florida, and later returned to Utah to complete his Commercial Multi-Engine certification. Today, Donald continues to build on that foundation, combining his diverse training background with a lifelong passion for flying.

Brad Howells

Brad Howells

PPL, IR, CPL, CME, CFI and CFII | 550 flight hours

Originally from Utah, Brad began his aviation journey there before continuing his training in the Phoenix area, where he completed the majority of his certifications. Training in Phoenix provided valuable experience in complex airspace and IFR operations, helping him develop strong situational awareness and decision-making skills. He has been with Bravo 6 for about nine months and has a strong passion for instructing, especially when it comes to helping students grow and reach key milestones in their training. He enjoys being part of their progress and takes pride in seeing them succeed. Brad's favorite aircraft to fly is the Beechcraft Baron, a multi-engine he appreciates for its performance and capabilities.

Karter Bishop

Karter Bishop

PPL, IR, CPL, CFI and CFII | 275+ flight hours

Karter grew up in Ogden, UT, where he developed a lifelong passion for aviation and knew early on that he wanted to become a pilot. He completed his flight training at ATP Flight School, gaining experience in both single-engine and multi-engine aircraft while building a strong technical foundation. As a CFI, he is committed to helping students develop solid fundamentals, sound decision-making skills, and confidence in the cockpit. Karter takes pride in guiding students through their training and supporting them as they work toward their aviation goals, while sharing his enthusiasm for flying along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the story behind Bravo 6 Flight Academy?

Bravo 6 was founded by John Seal, who earned his pilot's license and was frustrated by the lack of quality instruction in East Idaho. He teamed up with some of the most experienced CFIs in the area to build a flight school on one core principle: truly experienced pilots with a passion for aviation make the very best teachers. That belief still drives everything we do.

What makes Bravo 6 different from other flight schools?

A few things set us apart: instructors with deep, real-world experience; a holistic approach that builds judgment, communication, and leadership alongside stick-and-rudder skills; flexible scheduling with monthly intakes; in-person and online ground school; an in-house Redbird FMX simulator for year-round training; an in-house maintenance team that keeps our fleet in peak condition. We train pilots to lead, not just to fly.

Who are your flight instructors and what is their experience?

Our team brings thousands of hours of combined flight and instructional experience. Our Chief CFI, Alex Weichers, holds his PPL, IR, CPL, CME, CFI, and CFII with more than 1,800 total hours and over 1,500 hours of instruction given, and has endorsed dozens of students across multiple certificates. He's joined by instructors like Diego Monterrosso (Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot and CFI, ~1,220 hours), Donald Wilkinson (PPL through CFII, CME, 1,130+ hours), Brad Howells (PPL through CFII, CME, 550+ hours), and Karter Bishop (PPL through CFII, 275+ hours). With seven CFIs on staff, you can find the instructor who best fits your goals, schedule, and learning style.

What is your training philosophy and approach to safety?

We believe becoming a great pilot is about building good judgment, confidence, and a genuine passion for aviation, not just passing a checkride. Safety is embedded in everything we do, from our experienced CFIs to our in-house maintenance team that keeps every aircraft in peak condition. Our instructors mentor each student in decision-making, communication, leadership, and teamwork, so you graduate as a well-rounded, safe aviator.

How big is your fleet and what aircraft do you fly?

Our fleet includes the Cessna 172 Skyhawk for primary training, plus the Mooney M20C and Vulcanair V1 for instrument and commercial students; the Mooney M20C also serves as our complex trainer. We round it out with a Redbird FMX 1000 simulator, all maintained by our in-house team.
