Frequently Asked Questions

What scholarships are available through Bravo 6?

We help students pursue a range of aviation scholarships, including the Stratus Fly To Success Scholarship (a $10,000 award, in partnership with Bravo 6), EAA Flight Training Scholarships, ATCA Scholarships, AOPA Flight Training Scholarships, the Leroy Homer Scholarship, and the IAC emergency maneuver training scholarship. Who is eligible to apply for scholarships?

Eligibility varies by scholarship. Some are open to anyone pursuing flight training, while others have specific requirements; for example, the Stratus Fly To Success scholarship asks that you be enrolled in a flight school with at least 25 flight or ground-school hours logged. Read each scholarship's criteria carefully, and reach out to us if you're unsure which ones fit you.

How do I apply for an aviation scholarship?

Start by defining your aviation goals and finding scholarships that match. Then meet each one's eligibility requirements, write a strong personal statement about your passion for aviation, gather solid letters of recommendation, proofread carefully, and apply early. Our team is happy to support you through the process.

What costs can a scholarship help cover?

Depending on the award, scholarships can help cover flight training, aircraft and instructor time, ground school, exam fees, and related training costs. Amounts vary, but many are designed to cover a meaningful portion of your training expenses.

When are scholarship application deadlines?

Deadlines vary by scholarship and change each year, with windows opening at different times throughout the year. Because of that, the best approach is to apply early and check our Aviation Scholarships page for current deadlines.

Can I combine a scholarship with financing?

Yes. Scholarships and financing can absolutely be combined; a scholarship lowers your overall cost, and financing through Stratus Financial covers the rest. Together they make professional flight training far more attainable.
