Flight Training in Pocatello at a Towered Airport

Bravo 6 trains out of Pocatello Regional Airport, about seven miles west of town in Power County. Pocatello is our second flight school, and it gives you something our Rexburg home field cannot: a control tower and airline traffic to share the airspace with.

Become a Commercial Pilot in 1 Year

Our Commercial Pilot License Program takes you from zero hours to a commercial certificate in as little as a year. Training for it at a towered airport means the radio work that rattles most applicants is already routine for you by the time you reach the checkride.

Flying Out of Pocatello

Why a Towered Field Is Worth It

KPIH has a tower staffed from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on 119.1, and commercial flights come and go all day. From your early lessons you are talking to a controller, reading back clearances, and fitting into a sequence with airplanes much larger and faster than yours. That is the part that intimidates pilots who learned somewhere quiet, and here it becomes a habit instead of a hurdle.

What You Fly Over

South of the field you have the Portneuf Gap and Scout Mountain. West is the Snake River plain and the American Falls Reservoir. Real terrain and valley wind sit inside a short training flight, so you learn what a mountain does to the wind by flying next to one instead of reading about it.

Starting When You Decide To

Pocatello is an Idaho State town and intakes open monthly rather than by term, so you are not waiting on a semester to start. Dispatch builds a schedule around your class load and your job, and financing is available through Stratus Financial.

High Country Flying

Eastern Idaho sits high enough that density altitude is part of the daily briefing rather than a chapter you read once. Our SOP stops flying when it passes 7,800 feet, so you learn to check it before you walk out and to book summer lessons in the morning while the air is still working for you.
