You can begin flight training at 16 and fly your first solo at 16. You must be at least 17 to earn a Private Pilot License, and at least 18 for a Commercial Pilot License. If you're younger than 16, you're still welcome to take a discovery flight to explore your interest.

No, you do not! Many of our students have never flown before, so we get to train students to become safe and confident pilots.

No. A college degree is not required to earn your pilot certificates or to fly professionally, including the airlines. Some major airlines prefer or historically preferred a degree, but it is not an FAA requirement, and many successful pilots build their careers without one.

You'll need to pass a medical exam with an FAA-designated Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) and hold a medical certificate to fly. There are different classes of medical certificate depending on your goals, and a dispatcher can help you decide which one fits. Most people meet the requirements without issue; if you have a specific concern, it's worth discussing with an AME early.

With consistent training of three to five times a week, most students earn a Private Pilot License in about two to four months and a Commercial Pilot License in roughly nine to twelve months. Our accelerated Zero to Hero program can take a brand-new student all the way to a commercial certificate in as little as one year.

Costs depend on your goal: our Private Pilot License starts at $10,000, the Instrument Rating at $12,000, and the Commercial Pilot License at $35,000, with ground school at $495. Most of the cost is aircraft and instructor time, so flying efficiently helps. Financing through Stratus Financial and aviation scholarships can make it more affordable.

Yes. Flexible scheduling is one of the reasons students choose Bravo 6. We fly essentially dawn to dusk, and a dispatcher will work around your job or school to schedule lessons and pair you with an available instructor. Training part-time simply extends your timeline; consistency is what keeps you progressing.

Bravo 6 offers training toward the Private Pilot's License, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot's License, Complex Endorsement, and CFI and CFII training.

A PPL allows you to fly for personal recreation and enjoyment, while a CPL allows you to fly for hire. To become an airline pilot, you need to get an Airline Transport Certificate after obtaining your CPL.

We offer flight training and in-person or online ground school. You can take ground school and flight training at the same time to gain pilot knowledge and hands-on experience simultaneously.

Private students start out flying our Cessna 172 Skyhawks, and our instrument and commercial student pilots can train with our Mooney M20C and Vulcanair V1. We also train in a Redbird FMX 1000 Flight Simulator.

Rexburg is known for bad weather, especially during the winter season. Luckily, Bravo 6 has a flight simulator that you can use on days when planes are grounded.

Bravo 6 Flight Academy currently operates flight schools in Pocatello and Rexburg.

Unfortunately, we do not train for helicopter licenses.

In most cases, yes. Flight time and training you've already completed generally count toward your certificate, since your logged hours and endorsements travel with you. Bring your logbook and training records, and an instructor will review where you are and build a plan to pick up right where you left off.
